Cho Hyoung-won (Won) was born in 1977 in the historic former royal capital city of Gong-ju, Chung-nam province, South Korea. He graduated from the prestigious Gong-ju all boys high-school in 1996, before entering Chung-nam National University in Dae-jeon to study Journalism and Communications. He interrupted his studies to fulfill his national military service obligations between 1998 and 2002.
Following many years of English language study in Korea, Won completed a final intensive year of advanced English education at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia in 2003 before returning to Chung-nam National University in 2004 to complete his journalism degree, graduating with distinction.
He is currently studying for a Master of Teaching degree at Griffith University in Brisbane while providing expert Korean language translation and cultural advice to Australian clients of Griffin Communications.
